What is Janus?

Janus is an AI-powered submittal compliance verification tool. It analyses door hardware, gates & barriers, and fence submittals against the PSS 2.0 and BOD (087100.00.MET) standards, flagging non-conformances and coordination items.

How to Use

  1. Upload a PDF submittal (shop drawing or data sheet)
  2. Select the pipeline mode (AI-Powered is recommended)
  3. Click Analyse — Janus auto-detects the submittal type
  4. Review findings grouped by asset with severity indicators and confidence scores
  5. Override findings with a documented reason if justified
  6. Export the report as PDF or JSON
  7. Use the Product Lookup to check specs, certifications, and APL status

Pipeline Modes

  • AI-Powered — Uses Amazon Bedrock (Claude) for extraction and rules for compliance checking. Handles any PDF format. Recommended.
  • Rules-based — Fast pattern matching extraction. Best with KCC-format door schedules.
  • Compare Both — Runs both pipelines for comparison.

Submittal Types (Auto Detected)

  • Doors — Ironmongery schedules, door hardware (hinges, closers, locks, exit devices)
  • Gates & Barriers — Vehicle gates (sliding, bi-fold, swing), pedestrian gates, turnstiles, barrier arms, speed gates
  • Fences & Bollards — Perimeter fencing (palisade, mesh, crash-rated), internal fences, bollards

Severity Levels

  • Hard Flag — Non-conformance within manufacturer/contractor scope. Must be corrected.
  • Soft Flag — Coordination item or best practice concern. Flag for review.
  • Info — Informational / cannot verify from available data. No action required.

Categories

  • Security — Access control, monitoring, crash rating, anti-climb, anti-tailgate
  • Architectural — Hardware spec, materials, finish, EN compliance, door closers
  • Civils — Foundations, anchoring, level installation, anti-dig

Overrides

Click the override button on any finding to dismiss it with a documented reason. Overridden items are struck through, excluded from the pass rate, and the reason appears in the PDF report.

Export

Click Export Report to choose JSON or PDF format. Add a Procore link and resolution timeframe before downloading — these appear in the generated report and action register.

Product Lookup

Search the product database on the main page for locks, gates, fences, and barriers. Shows technical specs, EN compliance, certifications, APL status, and escape route suitability.
